Three Solid Reasons for UNILORIN 2017/2018 Admission List Delay | Must Read

University of Ilorin, UNILORIN is yet to release the admission list for 2017/2018  academic session. The University whose academic calendar is known to be one of the fastest across other Nigeria institutions.

Everyone who is familiar with the University of Ilorin admission trend will tell you, we’ve never had it so delayed like this in recent. The admission list is always out by September, and by November the second batch admission list would had be released.

For 2017/2018 admission list, reversed is the case.

This is November, and UNILORIN first batch admission list is still pending. Many applicants still continue to ask, when is UNILORIN first batch admission list coming out.

1. Change in Administration: This could be one of the major reason why UNILORIN’s admission list is still delayed. As we all know, the University of Ilorin just appointed another Vice Chancelor in place of the outgoing one professor Abdul Ganiy Ambali.

Therefore,  such a situation demands an adequate time to hand over power and also additional time for the incoming VC professor Suleiman Age Abdulkareem  to study and be familiar with the school activities.

Ranging from admission list to every other activities of the school. This will definitely take a little time I guess.

2. The New JAMB Admission Policy: We all know there is a new JAMB boss in place, a person of professor Oloyede. Ever since, his assumption of office, he had transformed the whole admission processes. You can testify yo the process you pass through when registering and writing 2017 UTME.

The Registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, at the 2017 Combined Policy Meetings on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, said a Central Admission Processing System, CAPS, will be used to streamline admission processes among institutions.

The admission process is now automated with direct involvement of the registrar of JAMB for final approval. I believe this will take time longer th a before.

This is not only affecting University of Ilorin, but many other institutions in the country. That’s could one of the reasons why UNILAG released it merit admission list, and withdrew it the following day.

3. The University is Taking Time to admit The Best: After shortlisting of the best candidates, another step that comes into play is ensuring that all the students merited it and are qualified.

The school may definitely be at this point.

Don’t be too worried, as soon as the admission list is out, you would be notified so you could check your admission status immediately.
